Pit! Pit! Pit!
Article by SS Scoop writer Angela Kim
Since the Sunday School class on angels, I got to know my guardian angel a lot more. I named him/her Pit! I don’t know if it was just because I had named him, but since then, I feel his presence a lot more. One night I was studying for a test, and like many other days, I fell asleep as soon as I had read the first paragraph. I suddenly woke up at 4 am in the morning and saw that I had just enough time to finish my homework and study for the test. The incredible thing is that I don’t usually wake up that easily. And that day there was no alarm, no mom or dad; the house was completely still. I am sure it was Pit that woke me up! If you still don’t believe me, I will keep writing my story. The sad part of this tale is that I had time to finish my homework but not to study for my AP European History test. I had not read the chapter yet and I was just completely lost. Luckily AP Euro is my last class. I opened my textbook in every class and read it, until the teacher closed the book. That day went by so fast! It was already fifth period and I still had ten pages of the chapter left to read. I knew I would not make it and started talking to Pit (inside my head). I asked him to help me out just this time and I would study for the next test. The bell rang and I couldn’t avoid my sad fate any longer. I went in Mrs. Chahine’s (the AP Euro teacher) classroom, took the test, was depressed for the next 2 hours, and checked online every hour after that to see if she had put the grade up. The next day, it was up. I was never happier about a B in my entire life! I thought she had made a mistake, but when she handed it back in class I saw the solid 80% and had a huge smile on my face. I was sure Pit had helped me out. How else do you get a B in an AP Euro test when you haven’t read the textbook? Pit doesn’t only help me during tests. I am a very cowardly person. I get scared when I go to sleep, when I’m walking at school at night, and even when I shower. And then I think of Pit. If God sent him to me to protect me, what could happen to me? If you think guardian angels are good for nothing, think again! The all powerful God gave each and everyone of us a guardian angel that He chose himself. I am absolutely sure there couldn’t be anyone better. I named my guardian angel Pit because I think it could be a girl’s name and a guy’s name and also because it reminds me of the word pity. Pit is also the awesome angel on Nintendo Brawl! So talk to your guardian angel once in a while and I guarantee that you will see a difference in your life!!!
